Located in the heart of Pauillac, this ‘second wine’ from the legendary Chateau Grand-Puy-Lacoste is an absolutely killer alternative for Left Bank blends on a budget. Fruit for this cuvée comes from 55 hectares of vines rooted into one of Bordeaux’s most prestigious appellations and is vinified by Francois-Xavier Borie, who has run the show at GPL for decades. This cuvée is Cabernet dominant (60%) rounded out with Merlot (30%) and Cabernet Franc (10%). Flavors of cassis, red fruits, leather, cigar box ,and cedar dominate this medium-bodied stunner.
