When Jean-Francois Coche married Odile Dury back in 1975, no one really knew the extent to which their joint winemaking venture would take off. Jean-Francois, a third-generation Burgundian winemaker, began tending his family’s vines at the young age of 14. Once the couple combined forces, their holdings totaled just nine hectares, though these vines lay spread across six of Burgundy’s greatest growing communes. These pristine vineyards are divided into numerous lieux-dits, which create extremely precise and site-specific bottles. Over the years, Coche wines have garnered a cult following, and rightfully so-- these are hands-down some of Burgundy’s best.
