An Italian red field blend — always fascinating — from winemaker Giampaolo Venica, of family-owned Venica & Venica in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, up in the northeastern corner of the country. This one is dry and well structured, perfect for slow-roasted (over fire, or in the oven) meats with savory characteristics.
