Franz Hirtzberger Riesling 'Hochrain' Smaragd Wachau 2016

Deemed one of the most important producers in the Wachau Valley, Franz Hirtzberger took over his family’s vines in 1983, which are dominated by Gruner Veltliner and Riesling. Fermentations are always done in steel with native yeasts, with aging done in large foudre. This juicy varietal Riesling shows notes of peach, pear, and grapefruit, giving way to a honeyed, fruit-forward finish. Drink with grilled seafood or fresh salads!
