Arnot-Roberts Rosé
In the Glass
This unique Touriga Nacional-based rosé is bright and zesty, noted with flavors of juicy melon, citrus rind, and tart strawberries. Mineral-driven acidity and a saline-tinged finish make this wine one of our top picks for year-round sipping. Produced from 100% Touriga Nacional.
Why We Love This Rosé
Touriga Nacional isn’t the most commonly vinified grape in rosé production (especially domestically), so when we heard that our friends over at Arnot-Roberts were testing the waters, we were immediately intrigued. As we anticipated, the wine surpassed all of our expectations.
Region/Appellation - North Coast AVA
California’s North Coast AVA spans more than 1.2 million hectares of land, making it one of the Golden State’s largest growing areas. The North Coast AVA is an overarching appellation that encompasses the six counties of Napa, Sonoma, Lake, Marin, Mendocino, and Solano. Most wines labeled under the North Coast AVA use fruit sourced from various growing sites across the region.
Behind the Bottle
Arnot-Roberts was founded in 2001 by longtime friends Duncan Arnot Meyers and Nathan Lee Roberts. The duo’s shared passion for small lots, cool-climate areas, and single-vineyard growing sites led them to Napa’s North Coast. Today, the pair sources fruit from vineyards across Sonoma, Napa Valley, Moon Mountain, and beyond. Unlike the boisterous bottlings of Northern California's past, Arnot-Roberts crafts acid-driven juice that seriously reflects the place from which it comes. Grapes come from predominantly organic growing sites and are vinified with a minimalist mentality in the cellar. These dynamic wines are perfect for drinking now, yet will certainly withstand the test of time in the cellar. Trust us, this is ‘New California’ in one of its finest forms!
The bright acid and savory nature of this Touriga Nacional-based rosé makes it perfect for pairing with happy hour snacks like bruschetta, grilled shrimp, or mini avocado toasts.
