Tresomm Rosé 'Gringolino' Valle De Guadalupe
Tasting Note
Their one-of-a-kind varietal Grignolino rosé is marked by flavors of strawberries, red currants, lime zest, and orange rind. The wine’s ample amounts of zesty acidity leads to a lingering and lip-puckering finish. 100% Grignolino.
Why We Love This Rosé
Baja Mexico has recently become somewhat of a hotbed for growing grapes, and our friends over at Tresomm dove in at the right moment. We’re beyond grateful to drink the fruits of their labor!
Region/Appellation - Valle de Guadalupe, Baja
Mexico’s Valle de Guadalupe is located on the Baja Peninsula and is home to over 150 wineries. The region is dominated by an overall Mediterranean climate, marked by foggy mornings and warm, sun-soaked days. Vineyards are cultivated in a variety of soils, though granite-heavy and sandy soils are rather prominent. Wines from Valle de Guadalupe tend to be flavorful and fruit-driven, marked by a signature saline-driven finish due to their ocean proximity.
About the Winemaker
While on a spontaneous group trip to the region, the trio visited Bodegas Magoni on their last day and was floored by the juice that winemaker Julio Michaud was making. After many shared glasses, a partnership was struck up and the rest was history. Today, the three American-based somms work in conjunction with Bodegas Magoni to craft thought-provoking wines from international varieties, including Grignolino, Aligoté, and Touriga Nacional.
Serving Situation
This steel-aged rosé is as thirst-quenching and delicious as it gets. Although an obvious choice, we absolutely love popping this bottle alongside #TacoTuesday favorites, including guacamole, fish tacos, and chips & salsa.
