This ‘flagship’ wine from Isola e Olena is comprised of 100% Sangiovese, aged in French oak barrels for 18-20 months. Fruit for ‘Cepparello’ comes from some of the best vineyard sites in northern Chianti, with older vines giving way to high quality, concentrated fruit. Their 2010 bottling is aromatic and spicy, with developed flavors of fruit, spice, and forest floor. Delicious now, but will drink beautifully through 2030.
