Wenzlau Chardonnay 'Drawing Board' Sta Rita Hills 2014

With 100 acres of land, and only 12.5 usable for growing grapes, it’s clear that the Wenzlau’s outlandish purchase was simply out of passion for California’s Sta. Rita Hills region. Their varietal Chardonnay is farmed biodynamically, sourced from vineyards facing the ocean and grown on clay limestone soils. 15 months on the lees adds texture, while marine proximity and ocean breezes keep acidity fresh and vibrant. Only 242 cases produced.
