Champagne’s southerly Cote des Bars region is known for its Pinot Noir-- and Marie Courtin’s is no exception. Founded in 2005, the estate produces single-vineyard cuvées from biodynamically farmed fruit, highlighting low-yields, Kimmeridgian soils, and zero dosage added at disgorgement. The 2013 ‘Efflorescence’ shows golden + tart red fruit on the palate, with toasty undertones and a rich finish. Balanced and elegant; a great ‘food’ Champagne.
