Gandona was founded by Manuel and Cristina Pires back in 2006. Originally from Portugal, Pires was attracted to Napa’s steep hillsides, which reminded him of the pristine terraced vineyards of the Douro Valley. Their Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from estate fruit and is aged for 20 months in new French oak. The wine is full-bodied and intense, marked by notes of cassis, roses, anise, and sweet baking spice.
