San Fereolo Langhe Rosso 'Austri' 2013

Nicoletta Bocca, proprietor at San Fereolo since 1992, has guided the estate to biodynamics, certified by Demeter. This is regarded as one of the most expressive wineries in Dogliani, just south of Barolo in the Langhe. 'Austri' is crafted largely of Barbera, one of our favorite bottlings of the variety. It experiences oak and bottle aging, releasing to the consumer after at least six years. It's a fine choice for grilled meats or deeply caramelized veggies. It's also lovely with mushroom dishes, the meatier the better.
