Mario Fontana represents the sixth generation of Fontana family winemakers in the hills of Barolo, founding Cascina Fontana in 1995. The estate comprises four inherited hectares of vines, situated in Castiglione Falletto. The 2016 Barbera is medium-bodied, no-frills wine, showing flavors of tart red cherries, black pepper, and licorice. An excellent wine for pizza or pasta night! The perfect ‘house’ red.
