Domaine de Courcel Pommard 1er Cru 'Grands Clos des Epenots' 2006

‘Grand Clos Epenots’ is one of four 1er Cru wine growing areas in Pommard and is owned exclusively by Domaine de Courcel. The monopole is comprised of 4.89 hectares and provides fruit for nearly 50% of the estate’s total production. Still young, the 2006 vintage shows flavors of dark fruit, currants, cigar box, and smoke, leading to a spicy, earth-driven finish. Lengthy and dry, the wine shines alongside hearty stews and robust Bordelais cuisine.
