Headed by fifth-generation winemaker Pierre Duroché, Domaine Duroché’s vineyards span across three village, four Premier Cru, and four Grand Cru appellations, comprising just over eight hectares. Fruit is whole cluster vinified with natural yeast, followed by elevage in barrel. The 2013 ‘Lavaut St. Jacques’ comes from a 1er Cru vineyard in Gevrey-Chambertin, giving way to a cuvée full of silky red fruit and pronounced aromatics. Serve with game, roasted meat, or mushroom-based sauces for an out of this world experience.
