Deemed one of the most important producers in the Wachau Valley, Franz Hirtzberger took over his family’s vines in 1983, which are dominated by Gruner Veltliner and Riesling. Fermentations are always done in steel with native yeasts, with aging done in large foudre. This snappy, acid-driven Riesling shows notes of white flowers, honeysuckle, and juicy stone fruit, noted with undertones of savory cooking spices. Extremely versatile on the table!
