Chateau Yvonne was first founded by monks in the 1500s, resuscitated to life by Jean-Francois and Yvonne Lamunière 500 years later. Today, Matthieu Vallée farms the estate’s 11 hectares, all organically and biodynamically, with a hands off-mentality implemented in the cellar. The 2014 ‘Beaumeray’ comes from 5-80 year old vines grown in clay/limestone soils over tuffeau, hand-harvested and aged 12 months in oak; medium-bodied, spicy, and earthy.
