Krug 'Grande Cuvee No 168' Champagne NV

This 168th edition of Krug’s ‘Grand Cuvée’ is an impressive blend of 198 different wines from 11 vintages. The blend is about 50% Pinot Noir and 35% Chardonnay rounded out with a smattering of Pinot Meunier. The wine is rich, vibrant, and loaded with flavors of honeyed stone fruit, baked apples, brioche, ginger, marzipan, and sweet spice. The finish is clean, tense, and very long lasting. The wine is drinking beautifully now, though could certainly withstand 15-25 more years in the cellar.
