Former ten-year winemaker at Niepoort, Luis Seabra decided to venture out on his own, determined to break stereotypical ideas of Douro Valley wines. ‘Granito Cru’ Alvarinho is terroir-driven and expressive, showing notes of citrus, salt, and minerals, fermented with native yeasts and aged in tight-grained oak. The word ‘cru’ here translates to ‘raw’ in Portuguese, representing the honest and pure expression of the land depicted in this cuvée.
