Bichi is the brainchild of Noel and Jair Téllez, their mother Ana Montano, and a team of passionate collaborators whose passion is highlighting the unique terroirs of Baja via non-irrigated, head-pruned, and organically farmed vineyards. The name ‘Bichi’ means naked in the family’s native Sonoran dialect, which pays homage to the raw and honest nature of the wines they produce. Their 10 hectares of Tecate vines are farmed biodynamically and a minimalist mentality is used in the cellar. Fruit for ‘Pet-Mex’ comes from a 70-year old vineyard of unidentified vines, located 1,000+ feet above sea level. After a few hours of skin contact, the juice ferments with wild yeasts and goes through a secondary fermentation in bottle. This supper chuggable bottle of wine is perfect for throwing back with friends at weekend afternoon brunches-- a true #PorchPounder!
