This dense yet velvety Gevrey-Chambertin is everything you want from this appellation: it’s energetic, it’s aromatic, and it’s perfect for laying down and revisiting in a few years. Fruit for this wine comes from old vines in Bussières, as well as the 1er Cru ‘La Combe d’Orveaux.’ Notes of pithy cherries, blood orange rind, rose petals, and sweet spice lead to a tight and tangy finish. We’d let this wine integrate for a few years before popping – your patience will be rewarded.
