Domaine Robert-Denogent is now headed by Jean-Jacques Robert, who took over his family’s five hectares of vines back in 1988. Although most of the family’s past harvests had been sold off to cooperatives, Jean-Jacques quickly became passionate about learning his vineyards’ unique microclimates, advocating for terroir, and producing estate-grown wines that rivaled some of northern Burgundy’s best. Robert-Denogent’s old vines are rooted into various soil types and always undergo a long and slow aging process. ‘Les Sardines’ is a rich and complex white wine marked by flavors of lemon, stone fruit, and brioche. (Pro tip: these wines cost significantly less than most whites from northern Burgundy yet certainly give them a run for their money!)
