Boulay’s family estate comprises nine hectares in the heart of Chavignol, with family history dating back to the 14th century. Vines are worked manually and have been farmed organically since 1990, averaging 45 years in age. The 2017 rosé is made from old vine Pinot Noir grown on steep hillsides, creating a soil-driven wine full of red fruit, zesty acidity, and structure. As Boulay says, ‘C’est la nature qui fait le vin.’ (Nature makes the wine)
