Château Pichon Lalande is a 2eme Cru Classé located in Bordeaux’s Pauillac appellation. Since May-Eliane de Lenquesaing’s arrival back in 1978, the estate has seen a dynamic shift in viticulture and winemaking. Pichon Lalande’s wines are more approachable in their youth than most Pauillac wines and are known for their relatively high Merlot percentages. ‘Reserve de la Comtesse’ shows fleshy notes of black cherries, currants, and forest floor. The finish is zippy and lingering, marked by additional notes of vanilla and baking spice. Drink now or hold for 5-10 more years.
