Regarded as one of Sancerre’s greatest estates and the first to be certified biodynamic, cousins Jean-Dominique and Jean-Laurent Vacheron, Domaine Vacheron produces consistently delicious and structured wines from flinty soils. Fruit is organic, hand-harvested, and fermented naturally with indigenous yeasts, leading to wines that show a serious sense of place. The cousins have become a benchmark for earth-driven Sauvignon Blanc worldwide. This organic, hand-harvested Sancerre comes from a 1-hectare plot of vines deeply embedded into flinty soils. Concentrate and zesty, the wine’s palate bursts with flavors of gooseberry, lime, lemon juice, and gunflint. Drink now or revisit in 3-5 years. We love this mineral-driven lieu-dit that has endless aromatics and zesty acidity. This single-vineyard Sancerre is loaded with flavors of lemon rind, crushed rocks, chalk, flint, and coarse sea salt. Pair with an array of seafoods and salads.
