Florian Roblin Coteaux du Giennois Rouge 'Champ Gibault' 2020


If this appellation sounds new to you, it's actually more familiar than you think. Côteaux du Giennois is in the Loire Valley, only about 20 km north of Sancerre. Florian, from a family of farmers, brings us this wine from one of the finest terroirs in the region, Champ Gibault. His finger has been on the pulse of some of France's most influential growing areas, thanks to internships with Alphonse Mellot of Sancerre, Jean-Louis Trapet in Gevrey-Chambertin, and, François Villard in the Northern Rhône. His rouge is crafted from destemmed Pinot Noir and Gamay. It's a juicy, spicy, chillable red. We're drinking this with grilled and roasted poultry, veggie dishes, and grain salads. It's a winner!
