Mauro Mascarello, the grandson of the legendary Giuseppe Mascarello, is one of the last remaining winemakers from Barolo’s ‘benchmark period.’ He took over his grandfather’s estate in the 1960s and still continues to vinify wines with a traditional Piedmontese mentality. He created ‘Monprivato’ as a single cuvée, which exclusively uses grapes from this world-class vineyard site. The wine is herbal and red-fruited, marked by notes of tar, leather, and violets. Prominent tannins and solid structure assure that this wine will withstand the test of time. Lay down and let the magic further unfold.
