Giacomo Conterno Barolo 'Francia' 2009

Known for producing some of Piedmont’s greatest Nebbiolo and Barbera, Giacomo Conterno has become regarded as regional winemaking royalty, crafting world-famous cuvées for the last 100 years. ‘Francia’ is a classic Barolo, showing powerful body, alcohol, and present tannins, as well as incredible aging potential. The 2009 vintage is concentrated and full; like in 2007, Conterno passed on bottling ‘Monfortino’ this vintage, so ‘Francia’ benefited in terms of concentration and power. Ripe, luscious, and more approachable than other ‘Francia’ bottlings in its youth.
