Mercurey (Côte Chalonnaise) is one of the most underrated appellations in all of Burgundy, meaning there are some serious values to be found. Gouffier’s ‘Les Murgers’ is loaded with soil-driven notes of red cherries, juicy plums, black pepper, sweet spice, and a touch of citrus. This organic juice is 30% whole-bunch fermented and is aged in barrel. We mean it when we say this wine is a total steal for the price.
