Winemaker Johan Meyer, locally known as ‘Stompie,’ has worked with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, inspired by his many travels to New Zealand, California, and Burgundy. Meyer focuses on crafting pure and terroir-driven wines, implementing a hands-off mentality in the cellar, using zero additions of SO2 in the process. The 2016 ‘Palmiet’ oozes with spicy cherry notes, noted with flinty minerality and a spicy, long finish.
