Founded by longtime friends Eric Railsback and Justin Willett, Lieu Dit seeks to highlight the unique microclimates and soils of Santa Barbara, focusing on grape varieties of the Loire Valley. The 2015 ‘Cot’ (Malbec) comes from Happy Canyon, fermented 100% whole cluster and aged in neutral barrel. Notes of blueberries, currants, violets, and berry fruit roll-up, pairing perfectly with game or juicy burgers (vegetarian, too!)
