The Colla’s viticultural roots in Piedmont run deep, dating back to 1703, when the first generation of winemakers began tending vines in the Langhe. Comprised of three properties, the family’s 25 hectares fruit give way to aromatic, structured reds. The 2013 ‘Bussia’ Barolo is tightly wound it its youth, yet still shows gorgeous structure and bright acidity. Cherries, tobacco, and truffle dominate; lay down and drink in five years.
