Rudi Pichler’s family has tended vines in the Wachau since 1731, dominated by Gruner Veltliner and Riesling. Rudi took over in 1997, farming the family’s 15 hectares of south-facing terraced vines with a ‘wine caretaker, not winemaker’ philosophy, creating pure, energetic wines. The ‘Achleiten’ Riesling oozes with notes of grapefruit, lemon, and dried fruits, noted with elegant acidity and complex texture; full-bodied, juicy, and delicious.
