This high-toned and hauntingly aromatic Barolo from Giuseppe Vajra oozes with flavors of red cherries, tart cranberries, wild roses, licorice, and sweet spice. Fruit for this wine comes from a 1.5-hectare parcel in the Coste di Rose cru, which is dominated by sandy, well-draining soils. 2016 is the second vintage of this particular cuvée and only 4,800 bottles were made.
