Milena and Aldo Vajra created their namesake estate to bottle juice formerly sold to negociants for the first time in 1978. Today, the estate comprises 40 hectares of fruit, which macerate extensively and age in Slavonian casks. ‘Kye’ is a varietal Freisa marked by notes of tart red berries, white pepper, tobacco, and earth. The wine’s high acid and long finish make it absolutely stellar on the table, especially with traditional Italian fare.
