Former pharmacist turned winemaker Giuseppe Benanti founded his namesake estate in the late 1980s after deciding to dedicate his life to pioneering the unique soils, microclimates, and native grape varieties of Mount Etna in Sicily. Now under the care of the second-generation, Benanti continues to be recognized as one of the important Mt. Etna producers, particularly in the elevation of native Carricante.
